Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- transcribe and analyse oral communication
- discuss and critically analyse the relationship between language and communication.

Course content

The contents of the course are focused on:
- introduction to the subject of oral communication
- interactive sentence building in oral communication
- conversation analysis
- non-verbal signals in oral communication
- Language and social relations.

Teaching and working methods

The course is given as seminars that require active student participation. The student's participation requires studies of literature, preparation before discussions in collaboration with other course participants and written presentation of the seminar discussions.

Examination

The course is examined through a written examination and active participation in seminars.

Three-grade scale, U, G, VG

Other information

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus.
