Entry requirements

For admission to the course, completion of year 1 and year 2 of the Bachelor's Programme in Cognitive Science, or the equivalent, is required.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- design a quasi-experimental study based on an issue
- carry out a quasi-experimental study in an ethically relevant way
- analyse data from a quasi-experimental study
- interpret the results of a quasi-experimental study.

Course content

The course contents highlight the following fields:
- design of research studies are based on advanced quantitative methods
- validity and reliability
- statistical analyses with 2 or more variables, particularly variance analysis
- Applied Ethics

Teaching and working methods

The teaching takes the form of lectures, seminars, laboratory sessions, group assignments and independent studies.

Examination

The course is examined through written examination, laboratory sessions and project work.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.
