Teaching and working methods

The internship is a period of work in a relevant organisation, workplace or business and must include independent tasks, which the student is supposed to carry out in a qualified and professional way. The internship period is prepared together with a supervisor. The supervisor supports the student’s learning process during the internship period. The supervisor supervise the student, when she or he writes the internship report, which must include a critical, theory-based reflection and a contextualized analysis of the organization/workplace/business where the internship took place as well as a self- reflection on the student’s experience, tasks and role.
The students find relevant internships themselves, but the internship placement must be approved by the programme director. The internship can be carried out in Sweden or abroad.

Examination

The written internship report is submitted online and examined in an online seminar (internship seminar) with participation of examiner (from Tema Genus research and teaching staff or equivalent), supervisor and fellow students as critical peer reviewers.
The examiner evaluates the written internship report in combination with the oral presentation at the internship seminar. Detailed information about the examination can be found in the programme’s Key document.
