- Master´s Programme in Human Resource Management and Development
Entry requirements
Admission to the course requires, apart from satisfaction of the general entry requirements, satisfaction of the specific entry requirements that apply for admission to the Master's Programme in Human Resource Management and Development.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge and skills for the future professional work
- apply theoretical knowledge in practical employment
- critically review the placement based on research in HRM/HRD
- follow up results of an investigative assignment to the concerned organisation.
Course content
During the placement period, the student should work under prevalent terms and conditions at a certain workplace. There the student should carry out an investigative assignment, based on the needs of that workplace. The placement must be approved by the programme coordinator, considering its relevance for the education. The tasks carried out must have a high enough level of complexity that the student may have the opportunity to translate the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice.
Teaching and working methods
The teaching takes the form of supervision, both at the workplace and at the university. During the placement, the student is supervised both by a supervisor appointed by the workplace and one from the programme. In consultation with the student, the supervisor should establish a plan for the placement period. The plan should state, as clearly as possible, the type of tasks that the student should carry out. The supervisor at the workplace should at the end of the placement period write a certificate confirming completed placement.
Examination
The course is examined through a written report, where the implemented investigative assignment is covered and critically reviewed, based on the research and theories that the course has covered. The report is delivered to the supervisor at the university for assessment at the end of the placement.
Students who have failed the regular examination are normally offered another two occasions according to this course syllabus, of which one in close connection to the first examination.
Grades
Three-grade scale, U, G, VGOther information
Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus. The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
