At least 60 credits approved on undergraduate level. Documented proficiency in English corresponding to English B / English 6. Exemption from the Swedish B.
Intended learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- describe and analyze different theories of storytelling and improvisation
- perform different storytelling and improvisation exercises in drama and/or in a theatre context
- analyse and discuss the connection between improvisation and storytelling
- apply improvisation skills in storytelling and vice versa
Course content
The course covers dramatic improvisation and storytelling in theory and practice. The course also covers the importance of improvisation for creative processes and how storytelling can be used in different situations and with different purposes.
Teaching and working methods
The teaching takes the form of laboratory work and performance, lectures, literature studies and seminars. The course is based on active participation.
Examination
The student's knowledge and skills are tested in oral presentations and in written texts as well as in practical exercises. Detailed information about the examination can be found in the course study guide.
