Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to: - account for the sensorimotor development of children and adolescents - adapt and lead motor exercises and games based on the different circumstances, needs, maturity and motor development of children and adolescents
- elaborately account for the goals and guidelines that concern motor function and playing in current steering documents for primary and lower-secondary school, and give examples of how these can be evaluated

Course content

The course covers the motor and perceptual developments of children and how to stimulate this development. With gymnastics and play as the means, students will try different applications based on the didactic perspective. Both practical applications and theoretical advanced studies are included in the course.

Teaching and working methods

Working methods in the course are seminars, lectures, workshops, literature studies and group assignments. The student continuously documents and reflects on the course contents in portfolio form.

Examination

The course is examined through practical and written presentations of group assignments and portfolio.

Three-grade scale, U, G, VG

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus.
