Industrial Management, Corporate Organization or corresponding relevant knowledge about general models and theories about organizations.

Intended learning outcomes

After the course the student

  • is able to describe, discuss and synthesize relevant models and theories about leadership
  • is able to analyse and evaluate the role of leadership in a changing, complex and global organisational context
  • is able to apply knowledge about leadership and reflect on theories and models of leadership in practical exercises and case studies

Course content

This course focuses on leadership in a modern organizational context. The course covers different leadership behaviors and leadership styles that may be appropriate in different situations. The course also addresses the critical leadership issues associated with cross-functionality, change management, and cultural differences. The course aims to provide participants with a theoretical understanding of leadership, an ethical approach to leadership and practical insight into what it means to be a leader.

The course is based on lectures, seminars, practical exercises, report writing and an oral examination.
