Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course the student should be able to
- show knowledge and understanding of the expanding field of project management
- discuss key topics and problems in project management and project organization
- analyze different types of projects and project environment
- analyze different management logics in project management
- evaluate a project and the practice of project management

Course content

The course gives a broad introduction to the field of project management and project organization and focuses on the analysis of problems and challenges in project management. The course covers such topics as:
- the definition and basics of project management
- the different logics of management and organization of projects
- innovation and uncertainty aspects of projects
- complexity aspects of projects
- stakeholder aspects of projects
- knowledge management and learning aspects of projects

- case-seminars

Teaching and working methods

The course consists of lectures, seminars, group discussions and literature reading. Language of instruction: English.

Examination

The course will be examined through a written exam and several assignments.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.

Three-grade scale, U, G, VG
