Intended learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- use, present, evaluate, take positions on and criticise the phenomena of processes and their coordination, IT systems and their relations
- use perspectives and models to delimit activities as a part of analysis and development of processes and understanding IT systems and coordination in such a context
- contrast process interaction as part of, in stages or radical, organisational change
- compare different principles, structures, mechanisms and methods for coordinating processes.
Course content
The main contents of the course are:
- Concept analysis and identification of processes, including different principles, structures, mechanisms and methods for coordinating processes
- Process orientation as a phenomenon and process interaction and processes as part of, in stages or radical, organisational change
- Models, theory and perspectives for defining, delimiting and analysing activities, including the use of type questions
- IT systems from an action and process perspective, and IT systems for coordination
- Analytical methods and models for processes.
Teaching and working methods
The teaching takes the form of lectures, seminars, group work and supervision. The work effort includes preparing for lectures, seminars, group work and supervision through studies of literature and, where appropriate, reviewing the reports of other course participants.
Examination
The course is examined through written examination, continuously and final. Continuously in the form of in pairs produced minor essays. Final examination in the form of a project report (in groups) and an individual written examination. The examination also comprises active compulsory participation in seminars.
