Intended learning outcomes
On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- describe, assess and reflect on the structure and application fields of IT-based enterprise systems and the mutual influence of the systems on organisation and organising.
- describe and discuss analysis, acquisition, adaptation, implementation and effects of enterprise systems.
- critically review, problematise and consider enterprise systems as IT artefacts in organisational contexts.
- apply enterprise systems.
Course content
The main contents of the course are:
- The structure, typical properties and architecture of enterprise systems
- Enterprise systems from a process and product perspective
- Standard systems versus. enterprise systems
- Acquisition of enterprise systems; principles, actors and roles
- Different roles of enterprise systems for organising
- Enterprise systems, implementation projects and organisational networks
- Framework for evaluating enterprise systems
- Practical and theoretical views on enterprise systems and organisation.
Teaching and working methods
The teaching takes the form of lectures, laboratory elements, seminars, group work and supervision. The work effort includes preparing for lectures, seminars, group work and supervision through studies of literature and, where appropriate, reviewing the reports of other course participants.
Examination
Written examination, continuous and final. Continuously in the form of individually and in pairs produced minor essays. Final in the form of a project report (in groups).
The course is also examined through active compulsory participation in laboratory assignments and seminars.
Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.
Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus.
