Admission to the Psychologist Programme is required for admission to the course.

Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- identify information needs, use relevant search tools and critically review search results regarding neuropsychology, neuropsychological diagnostic work and neuropsychological treatment.
- orally and in writing, account for, analyse and critically review central theoretical and methodological concepts within neuropsychology, neuropsychological diagnostic work and neuropsychological treatment.
- account for, analyse and critically review how different forms of neurological diseases or injuries can be examined and treated.
- account for, analyse and critically reflect on how the previously mentioned knowledge of neuropsychology, neuropsychological diagnostic work and neuropsychological treatment can be applied by a professional psychologist.

Course content

The course covers neuropsychology from an examination and treatment perspective. The students should gain awareness of how different forms of neurological diseases or injuries can be examined and treated.

Teaching and working methods

Part of the course contents will be covered at lectures. Seminars, exercises, written assignments and laboratory sessions also occur. A large part of the course is devoted to tutorial group work. In addition to this, the student is expected to study independently, individually and/or in groups.

Examination

Written examination, compulsory exercises and written assignments. Active participation in the tutorial group work and completion of the laboratory assignments is also required to pass.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.

Three-grade scale, U, G, VG
