Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to
- identify the implications of leading learning processes in cultural activities
- analyse and determine the deciding factors in the choice of contents in, organisation of and forms of learning processes within a specified field
- account for the own knowledge of different ways to lead learning processes
- plan, design and stage a part of the education in relation to a cultural activity

Course content

The course covers educational approaches in different cultural activities and is particularly directed towards activities with adolescents and adults. Concepts such as learning, supervision, the dynamics of the group, instruction/submission and treatment are central to the course. To be able to create learning situations with relevant assignments. Ethnicity, gender and sustainability perspectives are the starting points for processing of the course contents.

The course is divided into three modules:
Module 1. 3 HE credits
Educational processes and situations in the cultural area. Pedagogiska processer och situationer inom kulturområdet. Identification of educational situations in different culture educational contexts through assessment, description and analysis

Module 2. 7 HE credits
Conditions of learning. Förutsättningar och betingelser för lärande. The central concepts of the course are problematised and related to the cultural context

Module 3. 5 HE credits
Staging of learning from pedagogical standpoints. Iscensättning av lärande utifrån didaktiska ställningstaganden. The educational situation is staged and reflected by means of different theoretical concepts and pedagogical arguments

Teaching and working methods

The teaching is to some extent located on campus when seminars and applied exercises take place, and to some extent, the participants should carry out examining assignments and literature studies individually and in groups with the support of a digital learning management system.

Examination

The course is examined through individual written assignments and a practically applied group assignment.

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus. The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
