Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- apply different improvisation techniques in drama and/or in theatre contexts.
- account for the bases of forum theatre and apply this knowledge by designing, participating in and evaluating a forum play together with others
- lead others in values clarifications and connect values clarifications to forum play
- analyse and reflect on the importance of leadership for creative processes.

Course content

The course covers both theoretical and practical skills in participating in and leading forum theatre/forum play and values clarifications. The course provides knowledge of how forum theatre/forum play and values clarifications may be used in different groups as a way of actively discussing and managing conflicts and ethical issues. The course also emphasises the importance of leadership for creative processes.

Teaching and working methods

The teaching takes the form of lectures, literature studies, seminars, laboratory work and performance.
The course is based on active participation.

Examination

The student's knowledge and skills are examined orally and in writing, and through practical exercises and performance.
