Intended learning outcomes

On completion of the course, the student should be able to:
- account for labour law regulation in the form of important laws and collective bargaining agreements and be able to understand this regulation from several perspectives,
- apply labour laws in realistic situations,
- account for the role of judicial regulation in the interplay between different actors in working life.

Course content

The course covers the structure of the legal system and the labour law development with an emphasis on the application on staff and work issues, service contracts, collective labour law and more important laws, precedents and agreements in the labour market field.

Teaching and working methods

The teaching takes the form of lectures and exercises. In connection with the teaching, compulsory written assignments may occur. The students should also study independently.

Examination

The course is examined through a written examination. If compulsory written assignments occur, these are included in the examination.

Students failing an exam covering either the entire course or part of the course twice are entitled to have a new examiner appointed for the reexamination.

Students who have passed an examination may not retake it in order to improve their grades.

Three-grade scale, U, G, VG

Other information

Planning and implementation of a course must take its starting point in the wording of the syllabus. The course evaluation included in each course must therefore take up the question how well the course agrees with the syllabus. 

The course is carried out in such a way that both men´s and women´s experience and knowledge is made visible and developed.
